Because many of these claims happened so many years ago, it’s not uncommon to learn that the priest, teacher, coach or scout leader in question is deceased. It does not prevent you from bringing a claim and it does not bar the claim. You still have your evidence, your story, and what happened to you. It may be more difficult for the defendant to defend those claims because the perpetrator is deceased but it does not limit your claim and does not cut off your claim at all
