Question:

At a crowded hookah bar in NYC, while standing at the bar someone knocked one of the 5 hookahs lined up at the bar which were not mine. The coal landed in my shoe giving me severe burns 2nd/3rd degree on my outer ankle. The bouncer gave a first aid kit an helped bandage it. A day later I visited the doctor due to unbearable pain and she claimed it was infected. I had to miss work for two days.

Answer:

You may have a negligence claim against the bar as well as the patron. Did you get the patron’s identifying information ? If not, the bar might have that information. Take photos of the injuries as they heal and call a personal injury attorney immediately.
